The HYROX race uniquely combines repeated bouts of running with demanding strength-endurance stations. One of the major challenges athletes face is determining a sustainable running pace that minimizes fatigue accumulation across the event. This is where the critical speed (CS) and critical power (CP) concepts become particularly valuable.

We have been working on a way to make the methodology behind hybrid sport training intuitive, accessible, and scalable across all levels of performance. To do so, it is first necessary to lay down a set of foundational first principles that clarify what the sport truly demands.
